Taito and Jovesi were a young pair of lovers when they had Maya. Jovesi was a town guard and not terribly revered, but appreciated nonetheless, whereas Taito was a skillful apothecary and regarded and renowned for his talents in mixing potent tinctures and potions for any and all purposes.
Talented enough to brew potions to transform one's body, he concocted a tincture to make it possible to carry Jovesi's child and naturally, gave birth to Maya. Their stories are stored in Maya's home town, but she transcribed them into a personal journal to carry with her long after they passed.
